Defence Services Sdn Bhd (DSSB) is trusted name in defence industry with a proven track record of over 7 years. In 2013, DSSB is the top provider of maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for commercial and military vehicles. DSSB is a vendor that provide repair, maintenance, refurbishment and upgrade solution for armoured and soft skinned vehicles to the Malaysian army especially for Pendekar (MBT PT-1M), ACV 300 Adnan, HICOM Handalan and Isuzu Trooper.
DSSB is well known in defence industry was incorporated by MMC Defence Sdn Bhd on 28th November 1987. In 2007, DSSB is a wholly owned subsidiary of DRB-HICOM Defence Technologies Sdn Bhd (DEFTECH) until now. This was a strategic move in line with DRB-HICOM’s vision is to be number one and continuously in all what we do.
The DSSB brand among Malaysian army is now synonymous with the quality and productive as developments which have achieved the first in Malaysia’s defence industry. Besides, DSSB also has certified in MS ISO 9001 in 2008 by Certification International (UK) and OHSAS 18001 in 2007. Since 2001, DEFTECH has collaborated with FNSS of Turkey to supply ACV-300 family of vehicles to the Ministry of Defence. DEFTECH was nominated by Government as recipient of Transfer of Technology (ToT) package. The successful partnership translated into additional order for these vehicles. On 21st April 2008, DEFTECH had signed a contract with the Ministry of Defence for supply and deliver of additional order for 48 units ACV-300 Adnan and 8 units ACV-S 120mm Mortar Carrier.
Main Features of the ACV-300 Adnan and ACV-S variant:
- ACV-300 and its variants are full operability in all environmental conditions (fully amphibious without preparation), high reliability and low cost ownership, outstanding mobility in all terrain, high protection levels against direct and indirect attack, simple to operate, maintain and repair and also air transportable by C130, C141, C17 and C5.
- The ACV & ACV-S are enhanced version of the well-known M113 family of vehicles. These chassis are offered both 5 road wheels and 6 road wheels called ACV-S.
- The ACV-S variant is a vehicle improvement on the mobility, high tactical availability and response, more fire power, increased payload and personnel capability.
AV8 MR – Armoured Vehicle 8X8 Maintenance Repair
Following the successful delivery of 259 8X8 GEMPITA Armoured Vehicles, DEFTECH has consequently been trusted with the Maintenance & Spare Parts contract.
DEFTECH’s dedication and expertise played a pivotal role in ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of the vehicles. In turn, DEFTECH benefits from the support of its subsidiary Defence Services Sdn Bhd (DSSB), which specialise in Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) for military and specialised vehicles.
Drawing upon extensive experience in comprehensive armoured vehicle overhaul and refurbishment programs, along with dedicated facilities equipped to handle 3rd and 4th Line Maintenance for the Army’s armoured vehicle fleet, DEFTECH and DSSB ae consistently advancing, executing and maintaining an efficient vehicle maintenance system.
